Changes to the MAN Truck & Bus Executive Board

Summary

Christian Schenk to take over the Finance, IT, and Legal function // Holger Mandel to become the new Chief Procurement Officer

The Supervisory Board of MAN Truck & Bus SE has refilled two key positions on the company’s Executive Board. Christian Schenk (45) will be responsible for Finance, IT, and Legal at MAN Truck & Bus SE while also heading the Finance function at MAN SE with effect from October 1, 2019, taking over from Jan-Henrik Lafrentz, who will assume a new position in the Volkswagen Group. Schenk previously worked at the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand, where he was Head of Controlling.

Holger Mandel (52) will be responsible for Procurement, also starting on October 1, 2019. He succeeds Dirk Große-Loheide, who left MAN Truck & Bus back in February. Since 2015, Mandel has been responsible for the German market of MAN Truck & Bus, a very important region for the company, additionally assuming responsibility for the Austria and Switzerland markets as of this year. The three countries are combined to form the Sales Area Europe Central.

“On behalf of the Supervisory Board, I would like to thank Jan-Henrik Lafrentz and Dirk Große-Loheide for their commitment and the work they have performed,” says Andreas Renschler, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of MAN Truck & Bus SE and CEO of TRATON SE. “The Supervisory Board welcomes Christian Schenk and Holger Mandel as successors for these two key positions. These colleagues are renowned experts with an exceptional reputation in our field.” He goes on: “MAN is a strong pillar of TRATON. In light of this, a strong Executive Board at MAN also benefits the Group as a whole.”

“Holger Mandel and Christian Schenk will make our Executive Board team stronger. Holger Mandel has done an incredible job over the last few years and, in particular, driven the German market considerably further forward. With him at the forefront, MAN has become a market leader. Christian Schenk has diverse, international experience in the field of finance and controlling. I look forward to working with both of these colleagues as part of the Executive Board. I would like to thank Jan-Henrik Lafrentz for his commitment and the exceptional work he has performed. He played a major role in the financial success of the MAN Group,” says Joachim Drees, Chief Executive Officer of MAN Truck & Bus SE and member of the TRATON SE Executive Board.

Saki Stimoniaris, Chairman of the Group Works Council of MAN Truck & Bus, says: “As employee representatives, we support the appointment of Christian Schenk and Holger Mandel as members of the Executive Board. Electric mobility, digitalization, automated driving – MAN is facing enormous challenges, which is why it continues to need a strong management team. The only way we can shape this transformation for the benefit of our company and its workforce is by working together.”
