Summary

Full-range portfolio from 800 to 1,900 hp; IMO Tier II, EPA Tier 3 recreational and China 2 recreational; equipping existing and new boat models

MAN Engines will supply the Azimut Benetti Group, which by its own account is the world’s largest privately-owned yacht shipyard, with engines for a further five years. Having signed the supplier agreement, this is now the fourth extension of the original contract. In total, the supply relationship between Azimut Benetti and MAN Engines has been in place now for over 40 years. “We appreciate the excellent collaboration with MAN Engines as well as the outstanding products. That's why we are looking forward to continuing the good cooperation,” says Dr Paolo Vitelli, founder and CEO of the Azimut Benetti Group. Dr Matthias Schreiber, Head of MAN Engines also sees perfect synergies: “Our outstanding MAN engines are the perfect match for Azimut Benetti's mission, i.e. to build the best, most reliable and innovative yachts.”

The supply contract between Azimut Benetti and MAN Engines covers the entire engine portfolio of 6-cylinder, V8 and V12 engines. The performance range extends from i6-800 with 800 hp (588 kW) through to V12-1900 with 1,900 hp (1,397 kW). All the engines meet the currently applicable emissions requirements of IMO Tier II, EPA Tier 3 recreational and China 2 recreational and can thus be sold and operated worldwide. Yacht customers with MAN engines can rely on there always being at least one of nearly 500 service stations for yacht engines near to their port.

MAN engines are used in existing boat types such as the Azimut Magellano 66 (2 x MAN i6-850; 20.15 metres), but also in entirely new models such as the Azimut Magellano 25 metri (2 x MAN V12-1400 or 2 x MAN V12-1550; 25.22 metres) or the Benetti Oasis 40 m (2 x V12-1400; 40.8 metres).
