MAN marketing team wins Silver Effie in Germany
The marketing team responsible for the MAN TGE van has won the most important award in the advertising and public relations industry, receiving a Silver Effie in the B2B Marketing category.
Frankfurt am Main/Munich, Germany – On the evening of 8 November, Germany’s federation of communications agencies presented the coveted Effie Awards during a celebratory gala at the Gesellschaftshaus in Frankfurt’s botanical gardens, the Palmengarten. The GWA – or, in full, the Gesamtverband Kommunikationsagenturen GWA e.V. – has been awarding the German Effies for more than 35 years, giving recognition to communications efforts that are effective, outstanding and trendsetting. Awards were given across ten different categories for the best marketing communication in each, taking into account their efficiency and effectiveness.
Munich-based MAN Truck & Bus AG is one of the proud award-winners from the class of 2018, having received the Silver Effie in the B2B Marketing category, which was awarded for the first time this year. Senior vice president for marketing, Björn Loose, received the Effie on behalf of the marketing team that worked on the MAN TGE van – Markus Frosch, Nadine Baumgartner, Felix Weiland and Timon Carroll.
The award honoured the highly successful MAN TGE launch campaign, which was created in partnership with lead agency Jung von Matt/SAGA. The campaign, which has been running since 2016, puts the MAN TGE’s truck DNA in the spotlight, boldly positioning it as “the truck among vans”.
