MAN Truck & Bus UK has been singled out and awarded the much-acclaimed “Innovation Award” at the 2026 Emergency Fleet Exhibition and National Association of Police Fleet Managers (NAPFM) Conference.

Now in its 52nd year, the Emergency Fleet Exhibition and the National Association of Police Fleet Managers (NAPFM) Conference is one of the largest emergency service fleet events in Europe. Over the past five decades, the exhibition has earned a European and worldwide reputation for quality, with a broad range of products and vehicles on display, and it attracts a focused, high-level audience.

The exhibition, organised by West Mercia Police and held at The International Centre in Telford, focuses on transport solutions for Ambulance, Fire & Rescue, and Police, while also drawing exhibitors and visitors from other Emergency Services, local authorities, and select government departments.

Dave Newbold, West Mercia Police Transport & Fleet Manager, commented, “By being awarded the NAPFMs 2026 Innovation Award, MAN was singled out for demonstrating a broad understanding of the wants and needs of the emergency service sectors. In delivering a standardised vehicle specification approach applicable to Ambulance, Fire & Rescue, Police forces, and other public sector units, MAN has provided a number of useful solutions that create value and, at the same time, help minimise costs.”

Staying true to its roots, NAPFM remains an invite only event for exhibitors, delegates, and visitors. The event is used by approved manufacturers and suppliers to network not only with delegates and visitors but also with other exhibitors, sharing ideas and opportunities.

Receiving the Innovation Award on behalf of MAN Truck & Bus UK Ltd, Dan George, Strategic Account Manager (TGE), said, “We’re thrilled to have been singled out and awarded this much-cherished accolade, and we thank NAPFM for the recognition.”

“As a manufacturer, we’ve collaborated with police forces to develop an industry-first, standardised vehicle specification approach for emergency service fleets, designed to transform how police vehicles are procured, deployed, and maintained across the UK.”

“The result of this innovative approach is that MAN and our partners have helped standardise vehicle build and conversion across forces, thereby enabling a consistent, scalable platform that supports national fleet alignment.” Concluded Dan.

Over the years, the delegate base has grown from the original 12 Police fleet engineers in 1973 to include managers and staff from Police, Fire, Ambulance, the Ministry of Defence, and Government departments.

The Emergency Fleet Exhibition and NAPFM Conference attracts an international delegate base that continues to broaden; countries represented at the conference in recent years include Albania, Australia, Barbados, Bermuda, Cyprus, Finland, Gibraltar, Hong Kong, Ireland, Singapore, Sweden, Trinidad & Tobago, Uganda and the USA; many returning annually.

All MAN vehicles are supported by MAN Truck & Bus UK's Nationwide Commercial Vehicle Dealer network, with many dealers operating extended hours, including round-the-clock servicing and customer-tailored maintenance solutions.

The entire MAN range benefits from MAN's Mobile24 24-hour assistance service, which provides customers with a professional roadside partner throughout Europe 365 days a year.
