MAN new partner for Hamburger SV
The MAN Group is the new partner for German Bundesliga soccer pros Hamburger SV. The Munich-based truck and engine maker will be climbing on board at HSV for the new 2010/2011 season, thereby cooperating with another long-established club alongside its partnership with FC Bayern Munich.
“HSV is one of the most successful major German soccer clubs and has been putting its trust in MAN coaches for many years. We have now expanded the partnership that has evolved with a more comprehensive sponsorship deal. HSV will be travelling MAN – even over the next few years,” said Frank H. Lutz, CFO of MAN SE.
Katja Kraus, Executive Board Member of Hamburger SV: “We are delighted about the support from Munich. Its 250-year history makes MAN one of the oldest and most well-known companies in Europe. For our players, MAN’s team coach is like a living room on wheels that they feel very at home in.
MAN- and NEOPLAN-branded coaches transport many of the top soccer clubs in Europe and Latin America to the stadiums. In Germany alone, nine out of 18 Bundesliga team coaches are from the Munich-based DAX 30 Group.
Team coaches are both mythical and fascinating for supporters. “That is why MAN and Hamburger SV will be allowing supporters to share in this mythical world with unusual campaigns,” announced MAN CFO Frank H. Lutz. MAN and HSV are calling upon supporters to name the coaches, for instance. Supporters will be able to send in the names they propose for the coach (by e-mailing hsv@MANschaftsbus.de) as from today on Hamburger SV’s website at www.hsv.de. The best suggestions will be published on the club’s homepage and put to a final vote.
The winner will be the participant whose suggestion is clicked the most. The supporter will win the chance to attend the christening of the HSV team coach at the IAA trade fair in Hanover at the end of September as godfather/godmother.
Hamburg drives MAN: Hamburger SV’s MAN Lions Coach
Team coaches are now an important part of professional soccer. The pros spend their last quiet moments before the matches in them in order to focus. The coaches are places for them to celebrate their victories after games or drown their sorrows following defeats. The HSV team coach has exclusive features and fulfills all the demands of modern travel. The MAN Lions Coach with 480 hp could win trophies for HSV all round. It has 30 seats spread along 13.8 m that offer lots of legroom. 18 seats have electronically adjustable table surfaces and leg rests, providing the highest possible comfort. There are also two club tables available for discussions. They can be adjusted electronically and therefore used flexibly. The kitchen on board is fully equipped with all the modern kitchen appliances.
Four flat screens enable the players to follow the route via the navigation system or watch one of the many television programs that the digital satellite system receives. An eight-channel module system installed between the seats means that each team member can choose the music that they personally want to listen to through their headphones.
