Six turntable ladders for Saxony-Anhalt on MAN chassis
The voluntary fire brigade of the cities and association of municipalities of Halberstadt, Jerichow, Klötze, Seehausen (Altmark), Vorharz and Zörbig were able to put six new turntable ladders into service in the summer of 2013. The chassis of the six vehicles of similar construction is a MAN TGM 15.290 4x2 BL with air suspension on the rear axle and a wheelbase of 4775 millimetres. The spacious C cab with its three seats, provides plenty of space for the intended turntable ladder crew. With this set-up, MAN TGM has established itself as the proven basis in the construction of turntable ladders for national and international fire brigades.
As the body builder, Metz Aerials was awarded the contract to provide the turntable ladder, type L32A. The 31-metre-long ladder is characterised by an articulated arm, which also allows extension behind roof edges or overhangs. The rescue cage is designed for four people with a maximum load rating of 450 kilograms.
