Tabaluga travels MAN
MAN will be providing this year’s tour for the “Tabaluga und die Zeichen der Zeit” [Tabaluga and the Signs of Time] production with vehicles for the logistics. 15 MAN semitrailer tractors and two MAN buses will be used in the fall to transport the stage sets, the equipment and the Tabaluga crew throughout the whole of Germany. “Peter Maffay and the Tabaluga team are unbelievably popular and stand for continuous success. Our vehicles will enable us to support them as best as possible on their exhausting tour,” said Dr. Georg Pachta-Reyhofen, Chief Executive Officer of MAN SE, at a press conference in Munich. Together with Peter Maffay, he presented the sponsoring concept. Children from the MAN Löwenkinder daycare facility unveiled the first Tabaluga truck together with Tabaluga and Peter Maffay.
Peter Maffay considers quality to be very important when it comes to transporting the equipment for the Tabaluga tour: “I am delighted to have MAN on board as a partner. Our tour is a logistical challenge with very ambitious schedules. For this, we need vehicles that are completely reliable, like MAN’s.”
At the Tabaluga tour 15 TGX 18.440 Ultra semitrailer tractors will transport over 250 tons of material from city to city. The trucks boasting 440 horsepower will then transport 12 kilometers of cable, 150 motors and structures for stage space of around 450 square meters, among other things. The trucks have extra large driver’s cabs in order to offer the drivers the best comfort on long routes.
Two MAN Lion’s Coaches will take around 40 artists and dancers to their shows in 17 German cities. The MAN Lion’s Coach also serves as a comfortable team coach for a large number of famous soccer clubs like FC Bayern Munich or Borussia Dortmund. On the Tabaluga tour, the coaches will serve as a place of recreation for the actors and the dancers.
