Award-winning coach operator Maynes Coaches looks to the future with new MAN NEOPLAN Tourliner Coaches

Maynes Coaches, based in Buckie, Banffshire Scotland, has recently taken delivery of three new MAN NEOPLAN Tourliner Coaches.

Joining the immaculately prepared fleet are two new 12.1 meter, 2 axle, NEOPLAN Tourliner P21s and a new 13.9 meter, 3 axle, Tourliner P22. Each of the new vehicles comes fitted with Kiel slide-out passenger seats in fabric and leather with fold down armrests, tables and footrests, they are capable of carrying 49 and 61 passengers respectively, plus the driver and a courier. 

Director of Maynes Coaches, Kevin Mayne, said: “It’s vital that we continue to maintain our fleet replacement program, even when considering the challenges the industry has faced over the past couple of years.

“The relationship we have with both MAN and the local dealer, Elgin Truck & Van Centre, is key to our purchase decision, both understand our business and work with us to help ensure we meet our operational needs and because of this we have placed an identical vehicle order for March 2025.”

Established in 1947 Maynes Coaches distinctive fleet can be seen working throughout the UK and further afield crossing into Europe. Family owned and now under 4th generation management, Maynes Coaches who firmly believe in “Comfort on the Move” provide hire services and travel packages for summer holidays, tours, ski packages, private hire, business trips, day trips, outings, and, regular school and contract work.

Maynes Coaches new Tourliners come with all the qualities, practicalities and efficiencies you would expect from the MAN NEOPLAN brand. Both models, the P21 and P22, are powered by MAN’s D2676 12.4 litre Euro 6 engines, the P21 at 430 hp, with a ZF Ecolife automatic gearbox, the larger 3 axle P22 is rated at 480 hp and is matched to a ZF Traxon 12-speed gearbox. Both drivetrains offer a powerful efficient operation and a silky smooth and seamless gear change.

Helping maximise efficiency, Maynes Coaches new Tourliners come equipped with MAN Efficient Roll and MAN Efficient Cruise, these in combination ensure the vehicle spends more time on the road maximising fuel efficiency and at the same time minimising emissions.

Passenger safety, key areas for both Maynes Coaches and MAN NEOPLAN, comes in the form of EBA – Emergency Brake Assist and MAN’s Lane Guard System, featuring a vibrating driver’s seat. Automatic windscreen wipers, LED headlights, daytime running lights and fog lights all add to the see and be seen ethos.

Ensuring passenger comfort Maynes Coaches new Tourliners feature luxury slide out seats, all with 3-point seatbelts, USBs to all seats, seat-back tables, a freshwater centre toilet, centre continental door, climate control air-conditioning, drinks machine, fridge, kitchenette with 40 cup coffee machine, water heater and sausage boiler, DVD with multiple screens, tinted side windows, Valeo 33kw air-conditioning plus Eberspacher pre-heaters and carpets and curtains throughout.

Driver comfort is addressed in the form of a leather multi-function steering wheel, heated and cooled driver’s, touch screen satellite navigation, DAB, Bluetooth for 2 phones, USB, music streaming, PA system with separate microphones for the driver and the couriers, reversing camera, centre door camera, heated windscreen and mirrors, automatic headlights and wipers and remote central locking featuring key fob opening and closing for all doors. Ensuring the Tourliner looks aesthetically pleasing Alcoa Durabright alloy wheels mold into the sculpted wheel arches.

Maynes Coaches new MAN NEOPLAN Tourliners are all supported by a four year MAN Warranty Plus package, this includes a three year 300,000km comprehensive warranty, plus a fourth year 400,000km driveline warranty including all oil service parts and labour, valve clearance adjustments.

MAN Truck & Bus franchised partners Elgin Truck and Van Centre will service and maintain the new vehicles at their comprehensive workshop facility in Linkwood Place, Elgin, and Morayshire.
