Major fleet investment for Energy Assets Utilities

Summary
Energy Assets Utilities (EAU), one of Britain’s leading multi-utility network construction companies, is making a significant investment in a new fleet of low-emission vehicles. The first 33 new vans to be replaced in the company’s commercial fleet of over 200 vehicles will be based at EAU’s Alva base in Scotland, and will be followed by a further 40 vehicles destined for operations in England and Wales.

The investment will support utility network construction at residential and commercial developments across Britain and reflects a customer commitment to invest in technology that drives reliability and quality.

The new MAN 3.5 tonne TGE diesel vehicles are energy efficient, meeting Euro6 emissions standards, and incorporate SATNAV and tracking systems, along with reversing cameras/ sensors and speed limiters.

Steven Lynch, Managing Director of EAU (Scotland), commented: "We are committed to investing in technologies that improve the service we provide to customers, whether on-or-off site. These new vehicles are more energy efficient and include on-board systems that will improve both operational effectiveness and the safety of our people, which in turn will support our reliability and quality commitments to our growing customer base."

Andrew Taylor, Head of Retail Sales - Van, MAN Truck and Bus UK, added: "Forming part of EAU's business growth programme, the new vehicles will be maintained nationwide by the dedicated MAN Truck & Bus commercial vehicle dealer network.

"Our commitment to EAU, like all our customers, is to ensure we maximise vehicle uptime and deliver a robust, efficient and trustworthy fleet."
