Stewart Gregory, Commercial Director FAUN Zoeller (UK) Limited, commented: “These are the first MAN TGE vans that we have operated within our business, so we’re keen to see how they perform as they crisscross the country helping to service and maintain our customers’ vehicles. The first of the new TGE’s went on the road in November and we instantly received honest and outstanding feedback from the field service engineers. This feedback is important as our engineering team spend their days in the vehicles, so their views and opinions are very much respected.

“As a business, we place high regard on driver comfort and safety and the TGE meets both of these requirements head on. These fourteen new vehicles, which will be based across the country, are key to us offering our customers a high level of nationwide support, when both planned maintenance is provided and ad hoc breakdown cover is needed. So they need to be ready to move at all times.” Said Stewart.

Strategically placed throughout the UK, from the North of Scotland to South Cornwall, with their new TGE vans, the FAUN Zoeller field service engineering team offers customers a comprehensive and highly focused service, assistance and support function. Focussed on providing customers with a first-time fix this highly respected team works across the FAUN Zoeller body options, including refuse bodies, lifting devices and road sweepers, servicing and repairing equipment either on the roadside or at a local depot.

Stewart added, “When we started to look at replacing our field service engineering teams’ vehicles there were several factors to take into consideration, we wanted to work with a vehicle manufacturer who shared the same customer first and foremost ethos as we have within our business, the vehicles needed to be safe, secure and environmentally efficient, we had to ensure that vehicle uptime was a priority focus of the vehicle provider, and, we required a manufacturer with a robust and trusted dealer network. It was essential to have an open, solid and trusted relationship, and with MAN we feel that we have all of these points covered.”

To provide a safe environment for the drivers, all of the vehicles are fitted with ABS, EBA, ESC, ESP, Crosswind assist, Hill-start assist and Drivers airbags. Ensuring driver comfort is maximised the vehicles feature ergonomically designed seats, spacious and practical storage solutions, cup holders, USB ports, multi-function steering wheels and advanced infotainment systems. Air conditioning is fitted across all 14 vehicles as are reversing cameras.

“With our UK headquarters based in Redditch, in Worcestershire, and our field service engineers located around the country we aim to provide our customers a first-class sales and service provision, not just for today but the whole life of the vehicle. These new MAN TGE vans will form the backbone of this customer promise and help us deliver excellence into the future,” continued Stewart.

“We procure our vehicles through Days Fleet of Swansea on a contract hire basis, and with their help and guidance, we’ve rapidly established a great working relationship with MAN Truck & Bus and their TGE Strategic Account Manager John Seddon. Days Fleet has helped us with our fleet needs for over 11 years, and they always offer us sound advice and a range of leasing solutions that meet our business needs. As these are the first MAN TGE vans we have operated we’ll keep a close eye on their performance over the coming months, however, early indications are very good.” Stewart concluded.
