Templeman Retail & Vending shift up a gear with new MAN TGE vans

Templeman Retail & Vending Limited, Cramlington, Northumberland, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of soft drinks, crisps, snacks, and confectionery, has just taken delivery of 21 new MAN TGE vans, strengthening its nationwide logistics offering.

The new vehicles, all long wheelbase TGE 3.140 Lion XS panel vans, are finished in gloss black paint and feature a vibrant livery showcasing some of the instantly recognisable products that Templeman Retail & Vending delivers to customers.

Having recently consolidated their three Gateshead facilities into a single state-of-the-art facility in Cramlington, the second-generation, family-run business delivers thousands of product lines, including hot and cold foods, snacks, and confectionery, to wholesalers, vending operators, foodservice, and retail groups. With over 30 years of experience providing bespoke vending solutions, they are renowned for their speed, efficiency, and condition-perfect deliveries.

The 21 new vehicles, all uniform in specification, join 73 other vehicles in the Templeman Retail & Vending fleet, 29 of which are instantly identifiable MAN trucks.

“Apart from looking amazing in their standout liveries, these new TGEs have been incredibly well received by the drivers, who openly praise the high levels of comfort, fit, and finish. This is particularly important to our business, as our vehicles cover high mileage and we need to ensure we provide our drivers with a safe, comfortable, and secure working environment.

“Although the vehicles are still new and bedding in, they are already delivering impressive fuel returns, which, given the uncertainty of fuel prices in today’s market, is a real relief.” Concluded Karl.  

To ensure a reliable, efficient, and payload-friendly fleet, these new vehicles are powered by MAN's robust 2.0-litre Euro 6 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine, producing 140 PS (103 kW). They are paired with a 6 Speed manual gearbox. All 21 vehicles are front-wheel-drive panel vans.

To ensure the Templeman Retail & Vending drivers are comfortable, safe, and at ease while on the road during their working day, the vehicles have been specified with the following features: digital instrument cluster, rear-view camera, climate-controlled air conditioning, electrically heated, foldable, and adjustable mirrors, MAN Media Van with a 10.4” touchscreen, multifunction steering wheel, electronic parking brake with Auto-Hold function, keyless start, fatigue detection, traffic sign information, intelligent speed assist, cruise control, emergency brake assist, active lane guard system, tire pressure monitoring system, parking assist, and interior racking. In addition, each vehicle has been fitted with a tracking device and a category 5 immobiliser.
