· “Lifetime Connectivity”: Digital services in the MAN TGE available at no extra cost since September
· New MAN TGE Connect App connects driver and vehicle, making everyday work easier
· MAN introduces MAN ID in the TGE for use of the new app and digital in-vehicle services
MAN Truck & Bus has expanded its digital service offering for the MAN TGE van. The highlight of these innovations is the introduction of “Lifetime Connectivity” at no additional cost to customers. As a result, all digital services in the MAN TGE, including online functions and map updates, are now provided free of charge. Another new feature is the MAN TGE Connect App. The smartphone application helps drivers make their daily work routines more convenient, efficient and transparent. The app connects driver and vehicle in real time, creating a central interface for control, information and communication.
A particular highlight is the introduction of “Lifetime Connectivity” for the MAN TGE. Since September, all digital services in the vehicle have been included for at least ten years without additional costs or subscription fees. Services such as over-the-air updates, news and weather applications, and the digital owner’s manual are therefore always available. With the introduction of the new MAN ID, the range of free services is further expanded to include MAN Connect Streaming & Remote services. These include the online voice assistant IDA (ChatGPT), web radio (including data volume) and Spotify (subscription required), as well as the new functionalities of the MAN TGE Connect App.
The MAN EfficientRoute package, which was previously subject to a charge, has also been integrated into the MAN Connect basic services free of charge since September. The prerequisite is that MAN Media Van Navigation or Media Van Navigation Business is installed in the vehicle. Users benefit from online traffic information, route planning and points of interest. Online map updates, another key feature, are now also available free of charge. With the launch of Lifetime Connectivity, secondary users and motorhome customers now gain continuous access to navigation services as well.
MAN ID for the TGE
To benefit from all the new features, users require the new MAN ID. For the first time, MAN ID is being introduced in the MAN TGE and becomes the central access point to the redesigned digital services ecosystem. In the vehicle, MAN ID forms the basis for personalised functions: individual settings are linked to the user profile and automatically applied. In addition, MAN ID provides access to further MAN Connect digital services as well as to the new MAN TGE Connect App.
MAN TGE Connect App
With the MAN TGE Connect App, MAN is responding to growing expectations for connectivity in the commercial vehicle segment. Customers increasingly expect direct access to vehicle data, remote-controlled functions and seamless integration into their daily operations. The app combines these capabilities in a single solution and positions the van as an integral part of connected mobility.
At the heart of the system is the continuous connection between driver and vehicle. Via the app, users can access up-to-date vehicle status information at any time, including fuel level, door and window status, and maintenance requirements. Features such as vehicle location tracking, digital service notifications and automated condition reports increase operational transparency and help prevent unplanned downtime. At the same time, the MAN TGE can be locked and unlocked remotely.
Greater comfort and efficiency in everyday operations
The app serves as a digital companion for drivers. Before setting off, they can check the status of their vehicle or control the auxiliary heater (depending on specification) and ventilation system. This saves time and reduces operational effort. Fleet operators also benefit from added value, as vehicles can be located more quickly.
The MAN TGE Connect App is part of a comprehensive digital strategy and provides the foundation for the continuous expansion of functionalities. It serves as a platform for future digital services. The rollout will take place in stages: selected customers will test the app in the fourth quarter of 2026. It will go live in the German pilot market in the first quarter of 2027. A gradual rollout across Europe is planned for 2027.
