MAN offers part-time training

• MAN Truck & Bus with new training model
• First trainee already on board at the Salzgitter site
• Model applies at sites in Munich, Nuremberg and Salzgitter

MAN Truck & Bus is now offering young talents the opportunity to complete their training part-time at its Munich, Nuremberg and Salzgitter sites. Depending on the respective number of hours, the training period is extended accordingly. The training content remains the same. 

At MAN Salzgitter, the first woman had already started in this model in 2024 – a first for industrial companies in the region. Following the positive experience with the pilot, the company has decided to enable the model at all three sites for the next apprenticeship start in fall 2025 if required. In Salzgitter, the positions suitable for part-time work are explicitly identified by the company. In Nuremberg and Munich, a decision will be made on specific request as to whether the respective position would be suitable for part-time work.

Children, relatives in need of care – there are many reasons that can make vocational training more difficult. Andreas Herthum, Head of the MAN Academy, says: “Traditional full-time training is not always suitable for all life situations. That's why we as a company are breaking new ground. Especially in times of a shortage of skilled workers, this is another way of making MAN even more attractive as an employer and making it easier for talented people to start training and enter the job market.”

A total of around 1,500 young people are currently completing an apprenticeship or dual study program at MAN in Germany.
