The jury, which was made up of top international trade journalists, praised the TGX 18.510 as being particularly fuel-saving, efficient, and environmentally friendly. The title is one of numerous international awards that MAN's new generation of trucks has already won since its market launch in February 2020, including the International Truck of the Year 2021 as well as design prizes such as the Red Dot Design and German Design Award.

The "Sustainable Truck of the Year" competition, now in its sixth year, was launched by the Italian magazine "Vado e Torno," which specializes in sustainable transport issues. The focus is on sustainability innovations for road freight transport that are already available on the market. The coveted award is presented in three categories - tractor unit, distribution and van - on the basis of a detailed evaluation concept for sustainability and efficiency. This takes into account not only the reduction of emissions, but also other aspects of the vehicle's impact on the environment, safety and people's quality of life, as well as the sustainability of the entire production cycle. Aspects of user comfort are also included in the assessment. Accordingly, the jury justified its vote for the MAN TGX 18.510: "The latest generation of the MAN TGX has raised the bar for quality and efficiency. Further refined aerodynamics improve air flows to the benefit of lower drag, resulting in fuel savings and lower emissions. Efficient kinematics are ensured by the proven 12.4-liter engine with 510 hp in combination with the TipMatic transmission. The comfortable and functional cab is designed to make you feel at home both while driving and during breaks on board."

From "International Truck of the Year 2021" to "Sustainable Truck of the Year 2022": new MAN Truck Generation collects numerous awards

In addition to the "Sustainable Truck of the Year 2022," the new MAN Truck Generation has received numerous other awards since its market launch. For example, the New MAN TGX won the coveted title of "International Truck of the Year 2021" in the very year of its market debut. The international jury from 25 countries recognized the MAN TGX as particularly advanced in terms of ride comfort, quality of work and living, safety, fuel efficiency, connectivity, innovative services, and operating and display philosophy. The ITOY award was followed by a number of national awards presented by commercial vehicle journalists, drivers, or readers of trade magazines. MAN received two awards in Russia: "Best Commercial Vehicle of the Year" for the new MAN TGX and "Dump Truck of the Year 2021" for the new MAN TGS 33.510 6x6 BB. In Poland, readers of the commercial vehicle magazine Polski Traker found that the MAN TGX not only offers the driver an optimum workplace, but also makes the haulier's job easier with significantly reduced operating costs. In Lithuania, drivers and a panel of experts tested various trucks in a two-day event. In the end, the new MAN TGX was named "Lithuanian Truck of the Year. On behalf of the German magazine VerkehrsRundschau, a market research institute determined the most popular brands in the transport and logistics sector in Germany for the "Image Award". In the "Trucks up to 18 tons" category, the fleet managers surveyed praised the comfort, first-class driver focus and safety of the new MAN TGL and TGM. Readers of the commercial vehicle trade journals "lastauto omnibus," "FERNFAHRER" and "trans aktuell" were equally impressed by the new MAN Truck Generation and voted the new MAN TGM, TGS and TGX the best commercial vehicles in their respective categories. The MAN TGX also impressed design experts with, among other things, the particularly practical design of the driver's workplace. It won a Red Dot in the Red Dot Design Award, two iF Design Awards and a gold award in the German Design Award.
