At IAA Transportation 2026, taking place from 14 to 20 September 2026 in Hanover, MAN Truck & Bus is presenting its highly efficient truck and van portfolio, spanning 3.5 to 250 tonnes, under the motto "Driving. People. Partner." This is complemented by a comprehensive ecosystem covering electromobility, charging and energy supply. In doing so, MAN demonstrates how the transformation of the transport sector can be shaped successfully and profitably. New at this year's IAA Transportation are the test drive opportunities, which begin directly at the MAN stand in Hall 11.

The central highlight on the stand is the new MAN eTGX, which, with improved aerodynamics, higher recuperation and a new battery generation offering ten per cent more usable energy, increases its range as a 4x2 tractor unit to up to 660 kilometres. With the new 6x2 tractor unit variant featuring a seventh battery, a range of up to 720 kilometres is even possible. Battery weight nevertheless remains low: the 4x2 tractor unit, with an unladen weight of 10.7 tonnes, offers a payload of up to 25 tonnes with a standard trailer – comparable to that of a diesel tractor unit.

In addition to greater efficiency, the new MAN eTGX, with its new design, also gives the driver improved direct visibility, meaning greater safety for other road users, particularly in urban traffic.

Electric or conventional: efficiency in operation is what counts

With the MAN eTGL, eTGM, eTGS and eTGX ranges, MAN will in future have a complete electric truck portfolio spanning 12 to 50 tonnes, on full display for the first time at IAA Transportation 2026. It covers almost the entire spectrum of applications, from urban distribution logistics and municipal applications to construction site traffic and long-haul transport. All ranges benefit from the highly efficient, modular battery technology developed by MAN specifically for commercial vehicles, offering the right configuration for every transport task.

Since the end of July, MAN has also been producing the first eTGX and eTGS models with Megawatt Charging System (MCS) technology, which are being progressively delivered to customers. This extremely fast charging standard makes it possible to charge the batteries from 20 to 80 per cent in around 30 minutes – within the driver's mandatory break. Every day at the IAA, MAN is demonstrating just how fast and efficient MCS charging is, together with charging infrastructure partner Milence in Hall 14/15.

Cost-effectiveness is also a key focus for conventional drivetrains. The D30 PowerLion drivetrain enables fuel savings of up to five per cent compared with its predecessor and, together with MAN's entire diesel engine portfolio, ranks among the most efficient solutions on the market. As a special highlight among conventionally powered vehicles, MAN is also presenting a new 60-tonne truck based on the TGS 8x4, which, thanks to its particularly high robustness and payload, is ideally suited for mining applications worldwide.

Update for assistance systems

For all truck ranges, MAN is also presenting numerous innovations in assistance and safety systems at the IAA, further supporting efficiency, safety and comfort: the predictive cruise control EfficientCruise now integrates traffic infrastructure even more intelligently. The active interplay between the FrontDetection, turning assist and emergency brake assist systems offers vulnerable road users in front of and alongside the vehicle even better protection, including at low speeds. For the first time, the new MAN eTGX also features new comfort functions for the driver, including wireless smartphone charging, EasyControl controls on the passenger door, a high-output 230-volt socket, and a mechanical night lock for additional protection during rest periods.

Holistic solutions for cost-effective electromobility

MAN takes a holistic view of the cost-effectiveness of electromobility, and at the IAA, with MAN Transport Solutions, is presenting the entire e-mobility ecosystem: from charging infrastructure, smart charging and energy management to new applications such as bidirectional charging. The aim is to optimise charging times, reduce energy costs and operate electric fleets cost-effectively.

To this end, MAN Charge&Go is expanding its Europe-wide charging network, tested for suitability with electric trucks, by 50 additional locations in countries such as the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Portugal. With the Smart Charging Cube, MAN is also presenting a solution for sites without a high-capacity grid connection. Together with its own services and strong partners, this creates a comprehensive offering for a successful transition to electromobility.

MAN is also bringing its newly published "Beyond Diesel" strategy report to the IAA. Using three international fleets at different stages of electrification, the report demonstrates that early adopters gain a structural, economic advantage. Electric trucks unlock their economic potential at the depot through smart charging and energy solutions such as photovoltaics and storage. This makes total cost advantages of up to 13 per cent over diesel achievable after five years.

MAN TGE electrified by Flux

With the presentation of two near-production innovation vehicles, MAN is showcasing possible next steps in its electrification strategy for the van segment. The vehicles are based on the MAN TGE and were developed together with Swiss development partner Flux for specialised applications that require, among other things, a higher gross vehicle weight, all-wheel drive and electric power take-offs. These include emergency services, fire brigades and municipal operations, which up to now could only be electrified to a limited extent. The installed battery, with a gross capacity of 119 kWh, enables ranges of up to 480 kilometres according to WLTP. MAN is using IAA Transportation to gather customer feedback on the project.

At this year's IAA, the MAN TGE is also all about efficiency, productivity and driver comfort. Ten years after its world premiere in Hanover, MAN is presenting new customisation options from MAN Individual, as well as new MAN TGE Connect services. The MAN Individual range is being expanded with the MAN TGE Individual Lion X trim line and the Individual Black entry-level package.

The highlight of the digital service offering for the MAN van is the new "Lifetime Connectivity", available since September at no additional cost to the customer. This means all digital services in the MAN TGE, including online functions and map updates, are now offered at no extra charge. Another new feature is the MAN TGE Connect App, which helps drivers make their everyday work more comfortable, efficient and transparent.
