MAN Truck & Bus will be represented at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf from 30 August to 8 September 2024 in hall 16, stand number D29. The MAN TGE Next Level will be shown at the trade fair for the first time. This is the most extensive technological development in the history of the ‘truck among vans’. ‘The already very high product quality of the MAN TGE has been raised to a new level of comfort and safety with the current Next Level model upgrade. This will be on show for the first time at the Caravan Salon. Our motorhome customers will benefit enormously from the improvements. As well as from the outstanding MAN service with 24/7 breakdown service and extended service times at many locations,’ says Thomas Herzog, Head of International Key Account Management Van at MAN Truck & Bus.
The MAN TGE Next Level will be on display in Düsseldorf as a special edition in the launch colour ‘Pale Copper Metallic’. This edition includes mirror covers in piano black, a bumper trim in silver, a ‘Next’ badge in the front grille and 17’ alloy wheels. Inside, a MAN Individual interior demonstrates the capabilities of the in-house tuner. The interior consists of a multifunctional floor with carpet and four swivelling comfort seats, as well as a bed module and storage space. Another highlight is the air suspension on all four wheels, which enables extensive chassis settings.
The MAN TGE Next Level Camper Van base vehicle is equally suitable for ambitious self-builders and professional bodybuilders. It offers a solid basis for customisation and equipment. There are also two other camper vans on the MAN stand that are based on the MAN TGE. These are the KNAUS BOXDRIVE 600XL and the Westfalia Sven Hedin. MAN is also represented as the base vehicle for many other motorhome manufacturers. This will be visualised on the MAN stand by a partner wall. It features 22 partner companies that build motorhomes on MAN vans or trucks.
The MAN TGE will receive an extensive functional and interior update with the 2025 model year, called Next Level. Production of the first model variants began in June 2024, with further variants to follow over the course of the year. The MAN Truck & Bus van has been given a completely new on-board network architecture with a new generation of control units, cameras and sensors. This means that the MAN TGE is better protected against digital manipulation and unauthorised changes to the vehicle software, while also being ideally equipped for future digital online services. Another advantage is the ability for over-the-air updates. This eliminates the need for workshop visits for software updates and continuously improves software stability.
The dashboard in the MAN TGE has also been completely redesigned and now features a free-standing touch display in the centre. Another new feature is the ergonomic multifunction steering wheel, which can be used to select the new assistance systems directly. The new instrument cluster is fully digitalised as standard and offers the driver extensive options for customising displays and information.
The most striking highlight of the new cockpit is the new MAN Media Van infotainment system, which is the modern control centre for controlling infotainment and vehicle functions. Three variants of the infotainment system are available: The standard MAN Media Van with 10.4‘ screen (optional with navigation) and MAN Media Van Navigation Business with 12.9’ screen.
DAB tuner, Bluetooth interface and MAN SmartLink for smartphone integration (Android Auto or Apple CarPlay) are installed as standard in the MAN Media Van. The latter allows selected apps to be displayed on the MAN Media Van screen and operated either directly via the touchscreen or via the MAN TGE's controls. From vehicle purchase, the MAN Media Van Navigation (Business) also includes two years of media streaming, consisting of web radio and Spotify*. Also included for two years is ChatGPT-based support for the Intelligent Digital Voice Assistant (IDA).
Other new standard features that make driving the MAN TGE even more pleasant, safer and easier are Keyless Go, electronic parking brake and four USB-C ports. Furthermore, the TGE with automatic gearbox no longer has the previous gear stick. An automatic gear lever on the steering wheel is now available for selecting the driving modes. This increases the available space in the cab, as does the new electronic parking brake, which is activated via a button in the cockpit. The previous handbrake lever next to the driver's seat is no longer required. In addition, the electronic parking brake with the ‘Auto Hold’ function secures the vehicle against rolling away when stationary by automatically engaging the parking brake without having to hold the brake pedal.
The combination of new control units and new radar sensors and cameras also made it possible to significantly enhance the safety and driver assistance systems. For example, Blind Spot Warning and Drive Off Warning are completely new. These are now standard for all MAN TGEs over 3.5 tonnes with N2 approval and optional for vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes (N1 approval). The optional assistance systems, Cruise Assist, Cruise Assist Plus and Turn Assist, are also new developments. In addition, almost all systems have been revised and functionally enhanced. The range of assistance systems fitted as standard is also remarkable. Fatigue Detection, Traffic Sign Information, Intelligent Speed Assist, Emergency Brake Assist, Parking Assist1, Active Lane Guard System, Cruise Control and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System are installed in every MAN TGE Next Level. This raises the active safety of MAN vans to a new level.
Other new features in the standard equipment of MAN TGE with up to 3.5 tonnes (N1 approval) are the passenger airbag and an accident recording system. The high service quality for the MAN TGE remains unchanged, with commercial vehicle-specific expertise, 24-hour breakdown service and long opening hours at many branches. The MAN ServiceCare digital service is also available with the MAN TGE Next Level for smooth communication between the vehicle operator and the workshop. MAN ServiceCare is a digital maintenance and repair management system for the vehicle operator.

The air-conditioning systems in our vehicles contain fluorinated greenhouse gases (R134a / GWP 1,430 with up to 1.15 kg equivalent to 1.6445 t CO2). In MAN TGE vehicle classes N1, M1, N2 and M2, refrigerant of the type R1234yf is used. The GWP value of the refrigerant used is 4 (refrigerant type R1234yf). In case of one refrigerant compressor, filling quantities vary between 540 and 570 grams. In case of two refrigerant compressors they vary between 785 and 815 grams.
With the MAN eTGE, refrigerant R134a is used. The GWP value of the refrigerant used is 1.430 (refrigerant type R134a). The fill levels depend on the refrigerant compressor and vary between 560 and 590 grams.

Our MAN TGE vehicles are equipped with summer tyres as standard. Please check the national regulations regarding any mandatory winter tyres. Your MAN partner will be happy to advise you.
The specified fuel consumption and emission data has been determined according to the measurement procedures specified by law. As from 1st September 2017, some new vehicles are already being type-approved according to the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP), a more realistic test procedure for measuring fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Since 1st September 2018, WLTP has also replaced the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) for light commercial vehicles. In cases where the fuel consumption and emission values are specified as value ranges, these do not refer to a particular individual vehicle and do not constitute part of the sales offering. They are solely used for comparison purposes between the different vehicle types.
Additional equipment and accessories (add-on parts, different tyre formats, etc.) may change relevant vehicle parameters, such as weight, rolling resistance and aerodynamics. In conjunction with weather and traffic conditions and driving style, they may also affect fuel and power consumption, CO2 emissions and the performance figures for the vehicle.
Efficiency classes rate vehicles for passenger transport with an M1 passenger vehicle registration according to the CO2 emissions under consideration of the vehicle dead weight. Vehicles which conform to the average are classified as D. Vehicles which are above the current average are classified as A+, A, B or C. Vehicles which are below average are classified as E, F or G.
